Making a Man/Morning Wood
Starting from a humble log, Jayme chops and then whittles breaking down the material and shaping it into a flaccid penis to use as a packer. An exploration of Masculinity and self-love as a Trans man of color in a white cis-normative society.
NOnobodyBODY
Spurred by a series of personally experienced racially-motivated harassment, Jayme enters the bustling streets of Downtown Chicago in a morph suit and non-descript clothes. The attempt to mask his identifying features as much as possible serve as a meditation on the objectification of race in the united states and an experiment.
ZIPPERHEAD

Zipperhead – (SLUR) popularized during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Refers to the similarity in appearance of Asian men’s heads to zippers after they were killed for sport. Either by running over their heads postmortem or shooting in a similar pattern, the marks left resembled a zipper.
Inspired by Regina Jose Galindo, Jayme dawns a mask handcrafted to resemble racist caricatures of East Asians with a zipper sewn through the middle to reference the derogatory term Zipperhead.
Briefly Beautiful
Jayme sits behind a semi-translucent easel which doubles as the screen for a projector showing a video of Jayme’s face during different life stages morphing into each other. Jayme tries to draw a single self portrait in vain as the person he studies is never quite the same any time he views.
